Prof Andrew – Andy – Hillier graduated from Onderstepoort in 1982. He practiced small animal primary care for eight years in Cape Town and Perth. Andy completed a residency in veterinary dermatology at the University of Florida in 1994 when he was board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. He established his own dermatology referral practice in Australia before returning to the US in 1996. He was on faculty at The Ohio State University for 17 years, attained a Full Professor and Head of the Dermatology and Otology Service. He joined Zoetis as a Senior Veterinary Specialist in 2013. Prof Hillier moved to Zoetis HQ in New Jersey as the Medical Lead for Dermatology. He now serves as the Director of Dermatology Medical Strategy and Field Specialists at Zoetis PETCARE. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, edited and written books and book chapters, and lectured extensively both in the US and internationally. His primary areas of interest are atopic and allergic dermatitis, and staphylococcal pyoderma and antimicrobial therapy.
